How to Use the CGCU Leader Guide
The study guide is meant to be used in conjunction with Creative God, Colorful Us. The size of your group doesn’t matter. The study guide can be used in family devotionals or for a youth group study with 100 students!
Each lesson corresponds with the message of the chapter. For example, Lesson One: “The Image of God” will be used alongside Chapter 1 of Creative God, Colorful Us: “God Made You (and He Made Your Friends Too).”
Each Lesson Contains:
- A Bible lesson verse of the day
- Bible lesson prompts to help you teach the Word
- Prompts for when to read Creative God, Colorful Us
- Prayer Time
- Memory Verse
Here’s What You’ll Need:
- A copy of Creative God, Colorful Us
- Writing utensils
- Colored pencils or crayons
- Writing paper or construction paper
- Optional: provide a journal for each child
God could have made us all exactly the same, but He didn’t. And our differences are good!
As His children, those called by God to belong to His family, we can actually use our differences to help each other. Here’s some more great news: There are no rules about how we look or sound to be in His family. We have a delightfully different family on purpose.
Every person is made by God, in His image, and therefore is equal in value and worth.
Where can I purchase the book?
What's the difference between a Bible lesson verse of the day and a memory verse?
The Bible lesson is typically a longer passage of scripture for you to teach along with the chapter. The biblical lesson is an expanded version of the Bible lesson in each chapter. The memory verse is a shorter verse for memorization.
Does every kid need a book?
Can the Leader Guide be used one-on-one? What about larger groups?
Yes and Yes. The Leader Guide provides tips for how to use the book in the context of discipleship, teaching, children’s ministry or youth group setting, and even family devotionals. The lessons are flexible and can be used in all contexts.
